[ CHARACTER INFORMATION ]
Name: Yasha
Age: 12,500+ (Physical Age: Looks in his late twenties, let's say 29)
Gender: Male
Canon: Asura's Wrath
Timeline: After he dies at the climax of episode 21.
Background: Starting here and including the 12,000 Years Later and the 500 Years Later sections.
Personality: While he no longer identifies with either affiliation, Yasha has been known in both the Eight Guardian Generals and the Seven Deities as the being of melancholy. From this and from the look he always wears upon his face, one could get away with assuming that was all there was to him. In truth, Yasha is very much more than he seems, and very good at keeping it buried away within under a sense of duty. Even in his days of training under Augus (and later Deus), and even while trying to weather his rival in Asura and his ceaseless rage, the most one could gleam from him was calm and, at the rarest times of earned peace, content. But he was always known for his sad face, for he had chosen to bear the weight of the world's suffering on his shoulders.
Firstly, Yasha is the most noble and kind of the Seven Deities. Whereas everyone else among them were corrupted by the power they had acquired and the presence they have established for themselves (aside from Augus, who only ever cared for fighting), Yasha remained steadfast to his own personal ideals and to the core of the cause he had come to support. Yasha has always wanted what is best for the many, the people that are weak and suffering. Even when Asura is their greatest enemy, his intent is to put the raging fallen at peace by letting him know that his daughter is bringing salvation to Gaia. His affinity of melancholy is a result of this kindness, as he is constantly feeling the pain of the people of Gaia and of the rest of his ilk.
As Asura's rival, and as the thematically blue representation to Asura's red, Yasha represents many traits opposite to that of Asura. He is calm, emotionally cool and controlled, and empowered and motivated by sadness. He is also about greater goods, rather than immediate and personal ones. He is also more capable of showing respect for the bonds he felt, especially between himself and his sister. While he has no hand in the death of Durga and the kidnapping of Mithra, he accepts responsibility for it all the same as a result of choosing his path. At the core, nothing was more important than the greater good. If he could stop the suffering of Gaia and its people, then he could suffer the losses of his family and friends, and suffer the sacrifices of the world towards this goal.
That is not to say that he is not without some sense of anger. Asura has always been the best in bringing it out in him. Heated discussions about who of them was stronger showed sharper edges to his personality. These were actually more beneficial than not, giving him a chance to vent these more poisonous emotions. A truer source of anger was dealing with those that refused reason, the more blatant the reason or flagrant the refusal, the worse his temper could get. Another came in the form of committing actions that he regarded as unforgivable or unacceptable.
In another difference from the rest of the Seven Deities, save for Deus in some respects, Yasha regarded himself coldly. In private or confidence, he showed loathing for what he had to do in the name of the cause. He promises Mithra that she can take his life for his role in all that she had suffered, and refers to himself as a demon before the cause he follows. To this end, even 12,500 years ago at the betrayal, he began to wear a visor like mask. It aided him in repressing his emotions, sealing him away from the outside world, in a respect. And even though it did nothing to prevent the outside world from flowing into him, it allowed him to find a groove that he could fill while damning himself for the cause. And despite all this, he is not above reproach or hesitation, nor has he cut himself off from his conscience and soul.
At the core of it all, Yasha is a tormented being consumed with feelings of guilt and sorrow, but focused beyond himself and always on the greater picture. Even in the end, he chose to entrust his greatest rival and friend then to continue living, sacrificing himself because he knew Asura was the one that could save the world. Yasha is a believer in the ends justifies the means, but does not blind himself to the means and will take exception when he feels they no longer support the end cause. He is a compassionate, benevolent being of calm and composure, but knows well that sacrifices can and will be made in the pursuit of salvation. Even when the sacrifice is his own. He believes in justice, both personally and for all things. And above all else, he is a being of sadness. While no one suffers more than the ones actually suffering, he hears and knows their suffering well enough to consider it his own. And it is this sadness and suffering that drives his fists.
Why is your character a good fit for the setting of Soul Campaign, and what will they do once they are in the game?
Yasha, by the time he has ended his role in the main canon, has resigned himself to whatever waits him in the next life. To that end, if he should find himself in a place like Death City, conscripted into fighting yet another war, he will do so. Both because it would appear that he was intended to in the first place, and because in a strange way, it gives him at redemption. This time, he can end a war without the pointless sacrifices.
List the abilities your character will still have in Soul Campaign:
Being a demigod and among the most powerful in the canon, there is precious few abilities Yasha is keeping. His agility, strength, endurance and stamina will be retained due to their being related to his make. All of his extensive experience in physical combat as well.
List the weaknesses your character will gain (or lose) in Soul Campaign:
As his is the mantra of melancholy/sadness, Yasha's soul will be very much vulnerable to things that prey on those feelings. This is now a weakness since he no longer gains anything from these feelings.
[ MEISTER ]
Soul Description: Melancholic, driven, calm, guarded, devoted, sympathetic. Yasha's soul is a calming shade of blue that grows brighter when he is in a somber state. His soul has a version of his mask on, which obscures much of its face from sight. Under it, his eyes almost always appear closed, and his lips the definition of "line face".
Ability: Melancholic Soul

I suppose, upon recollection, I should not be entirely surprised to be here. [The device is being rather gingerly handled, recording clear video of a man trying to look introspective, while being slightly confused. It's a very...basic device. He is used to broadcasting video with waves of his hand, the screens unrestricted by frames like this.]
I am told that this is a place called Death City. And that it is embroiled in a war against things known as witches. I am sure many question why they arrive here. I would rather know what there is to be done and what I need accomplish in order to do such things.
[And the picture goes topsy turvy as he turns the thing around in his hand, looking it over. When it stops, he looks quite a bit less confused. He still does not understand it, but he figures that can come in time.]
To that end, I seek to learn my identity as either Weapon or Meister. And then I need my counterpart, regardless of whatever role has been selected for me. To that end, is there any here that can assist me with that? Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Third-Person
His death. He remembered it. It had been a long process, slow and painful. A fitting ending, or part of what made it so. He could remember it with pristine detail, right up to the final words he had uttered to Asura.
"Go. Save Mithra...and the world."
And then he was gone. Whether to Naraka or elsewhere entirely he did not know, but his tale had come to an end at last. He left the world in the care of the greatest friend and rival he had ever known. And now he was set to spend whatever eternity was waiting for him for the actions he had been party to. Redemption, he felt, was not in his cards. What he did not intend on was coming to in a place like this. The room was dark, yet in the middle he could see two large statues with chains and paper all over. The room itself looked...much like parts of his world did when he had left it. Ruined and reflecting battles. How many? How recent? He could not say.
"I feel...alive?" He muttered to himself, standing upright from his rather strange pose. Like someone frozen in time before delivering a grand blow. His hand came to his exposed chest, rubbing it tenderly where there had once been a gaping hole. "What is this?" He knew well that his own abilities were gone, that the flow of Mantra was missing from his person.
And just like that, light floods as the screen turns on. For a moment, he had the strangest of thoughts. That somehow he had been among one of the fleet's ships all along, that he had awoken from a dream filled slumber to find himself cruelly mocked. But the screen looked different. Bulkier. And the face unknown. Insisting calm where there was already a wealth of it. He was, as far as he knew, dead. What was there to be concerned by?
At least until he heard names. Shibusen? Death City? Nevada?
But then he heard a word he was familiar with. "War." He replied once. Was this to be his fate? He was no longer sure of anything, the least of which being whether he was truly alive or dead. But one thing was perfectly clear to him, standing there in that bizarre room. He was here for some reason. He stared away at the screen, looking into his hand quietly.
"There is no life for me among citizens." He balled his hand up into a fist, before letting it drop to his side and making his ways towards the escort that had shown up. "Your war is now my own."
